Chapter 10 - Verse 30
प्रह्लादश्चास्मि दैत्यानां काल: कलयतामहम् |
मृगाणां च मृगेन्द्रोऽहं वैनतेयश्च पक्षिणाम् || 30||

Translation

I am Prahlada among the daityas. I am Kala among the entities that
bind. I am Mrugendra (lion) among the animals. I am Vainateya (Garuda)
among the birds.

Unfiltered First Take

Like Prahlad, have unwavering belief in the business you are running. Be fearless and never hesitate to do the right thing. Break the barriers that come along with birth. Be ready to share your knowledge with fellow members with the intention of uplifting them. Stay strong during all adversities. Do not live life according to others’ expectations, but live in a way that keeps you content.

Like Time, have processes in place to control the outcomes of the organization. Be neutral and beyond negotiation on certain basic qualities needed to run the organization. Like Time, allow people, processes, and systems to be born, grow, correct themselves, and end, acting as engines of transformation. Never force anything on anyone, but like Time, be the disciplinarian who makes others aware of the consequences of intentional delays, missed opportunities, and lost growth. Also be the one who brings everyone together and gets the best out of their rhythm.

Like a Lion, run the business with authority and courage. Radiate power, dignity, majesty, and sovereignty at all times. Be the protector of the business and its people, and be fearless of competitors.

Like Garuda, be the carrier of transformation. Aim for new horizons and build the agility and strength needed to reach them against all odds. Be free, swift, and fearless, and be relentless with competitors. Seek new horizons to enjoy new views and command greater space, unlike those who fly only to meet daily needs. Have the strength to soar beyond tough terrain and rough skies.

UdyamGita Interpretation

Krishna now presents figures that embody conviction, regulation, dominance, and transcendence—Prahlad as unwavering faith amidst hostility, Time as the supreme regulator, the Lion as sovereign courage, and Garuda as limitless flight and transformative force.

This verse brings leadership to its sharpest edge: inner belief, external discipline, commanding presence, and boundless vision.

Business Insight

Entrepreneurship begins with unshakable belief.

Like Prahlad, entrepreneurs must hold unwavering faith in the business they are building—even when circumstances, background, or opposition suggest otherwise. True founders do not surrender to inherited limitations or external expectations. They choose what is right over what is safe, and they share knowledge freely with the intention of uplifting others.

This belief is not arrogance; it is inner containment. Entrepreneurs who are at peace with their choices remain resilient through adversity and do not seek validation from the crowd.

Like Time, entrepreneurs must design systems that regulate outcomes. Certain standards—integrity, ownership, timeliness, quality—must be non-negotiable. Leaders should allow people and processes to be born, grow, correct, and sometimes end. Transformation should not be forced, but consequences must be visible. Delays, missed opportunities, and inaction should naturally reveal their cost.

Leadership Lesson

Power must be exercised with courage and altitude.

Like the Lion, entrepreneurs lead with authority and fearlessness. They protect their people and their business, stand firm against competition, and operate with dignity and sovereignty. Courage at the top creates confidence throughout the organization.

Like Garuda, great founders are carriers of transformation. They seek new horizons—not just survival. They build agility, speed, and strength to fly through rough terrain and turbulent skies. Freedom of thought, bold execution, and relentless ambition allow them to operate in spaces others never reach.

While many businesses fly to meet daily needs, visionary entrepreneurs fly to rule larger landscapes.
